I was very disappointed by the care I received at Sparrow's Emergency Room (Michigan Avenue). My wait time exceeded 7 hours, I received treatment that was very expensive (and which I deemed inappropriate to my situation), and was discharged without a satisfying diagnosis. I presented my dissatisfaction to Sparrow's Patient Experience and Risk Assessment departments. While they were somewhat sympathetic towards my negative experience, they did not find it fitting to readjust the amount they billed me for what I believe to be notably substandard service. As such, I am currently unable to recommend this hospital. I like having access to a local hospital, and I hope that in the future Sparrow improves their patient care.
Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. So far we love this place. My wife is going through a very difficult pregnancy and they have been great. We've had 25+ visits combined between Sparrow Ionia, and Sparrow Lansing. Many great people work here.
Go to lansing urgent care, I’ve had good luck at one of the locations so far. Professional, great follow up, and they take patients in order. Very quick.
One of the most inconsiderate hospitals I have EVER been to when it comes to your time. They could care less how long you’ve waited because if you aren’t dying on the floor of the waiting room they WILL NOT SEE YOU. Posting this as I sit in the waiting room going on hour 3 while the room has been cleared and reseated countless times. Absolutely disgraceful that this institution can be granted subsidies and tax breaks when they act more as a torture facility than a treatment one.
Hospital is slow, workers were ridiculously unprofessional and rude, no communication without actually following a doctor around until they help you, over 2 hours wait times (common there), prioritizing other patients over you, (possibly breaking laws).
I’ve came here my entire life and I can genuinely say that there is a drastic difference here. The staff was unbelievably welcoming. Nurses and doctor were great. Huge culture shift at Sparrow hospital. Thankful for the new management and team.
They are doctors that don’t have a moral or ethics code and wouldn’t recommend going here in just about any position.
