I'm sorry, but what the hell is going on? I've worked retail for 4 years, and I know all about technical glitches, but it all felt VERY sleazy to me.

Those are my guys. All the booze for decent prices. Party time! Convenient and friendly staff.
Worth noting is that the card reader is pointed towards the customer, and blocked off to the cashier. Therefore, there is no reason whatsoever that I should need to hand my card over, nor should he try to enter my freaking pin without my consent or input.
Absolutely abhorrent abuse of customers. While paying for a 6 pack of beer, the cashier took my card from me, and tried to swipe the card for me before I corrected him about the total being TWICE the amount that 1) was on the sticker, and 2) he had verbally told me. He then played it off as the machine acting up, took me to another register, swiped my chip card on a machine that takes chips cards, tried to enter my pin for me (all of which without telling me a damn thing), then handed me my card so I could insert it into the chip reader.
