The people that are saying 5 stars must work at the social security because this place sucks! Better help and less time wasted in DETROIT at their social security office. Very slow and just to rrecieved a replacement card your stuck waiting for everyone else that has nothing to do with a card. They make you wait for all the people trying to get benifits when it only takes you 2 mins for a card. Seriously Lansing needs to do better
still awaiting this office to send approval for back pay that is owed to me from back pay on disibility. The treasury had received my check back due to error in the name of my city and the banks would not cash it . It has taken as of today 22 days to reissue the check and will not be completed still due to the holiday. I contact the 800 number 4 times and this last time today on 11/22/2017 stated I will have to now contact lansing office. When I contacted the office in Owosso michigan they were quick to blame the lansing office for the errors. The 800 number was quick to blame the treasury for the wait. Contact treasury and they stated they are awaiting on Social Security office. Contact 800 number again they were quick to submit a notation and refer me to Lansing number. I feel like its the run around. I now understand why it takes so long to get benefits, It feels like they dont care for their jobs. I have bills to medical bills to pay and rent for the last 5 months to cover before I get evicted from my home. What does this mean to the Lansing office. Nothing it seems.
Long lines everytime you go. Get there early if you don't want to wait other than that you always accomplish what you went for.
I waited on hold for more than 42 minutes to report fraud. after that long waiting a person finally picked up and asked me what I needed. I told her what happened and I as immediately transferred to the survey! ALL of that time waiting on hold (while at work!) and then I still can't talk to a person? Unacceptable! I did not apply for retirement and when I logged in to change my pw after receiving an email to change it. My account showed that I had applied for retirement when I have not! This needs to be cancelled asap yet I am unable to get ahold of ANYONE. I don't have another 42 minutes to wait on hold again and waiting in line at the SS office takes too long too. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND UNACCEPTABLE! I have no idea how to handle this now!
Today I was at this office for some business that cannot be be found on-line. I must say that my experience was the most positive I've ever had with a governmental agency. All the staff I encountered, including the security guard, were pleasant, helpful, non-judgmental and professional. I can't say enough good things are the organization, information and the help I received today from the Lansing staff. Thank you for making my day!
