I've lived at East Main Apartments for over five years...I LOVE it!!! You can't beat the location. My apartment overlooks the Grand River, my building is extremely quiet and the management here is outstanding. FIVE STARS all the way!!! *****
I can honestly say East Main Apt is a very convenient safe comfortable place to live at. The staff is amazing and quick to answer and resolve any questions or problems someone is having at least in my experience. They go by policy but also understand life happens and are willing to help as much as they can when tough times are among you. Apartments have been upgraded and if maintenance is needed they make it a priority to solve the problem asap. I'm really happy here and being so close to the downtown bus stop I can hop on to any bus I need. Adding to being so close to everything the price of living here is so fair vs staying somewhere else downtown it will cost me double at apt places that I've looked into personally and it's honestly a huge win to live here.
Lived in Lansing all my life but never lived anywhere nicer than East Main Apts. All of my neighbors are considerate, my apartment is very quiet. close to downtown nightlife. Rent is fairly priced for the upgraded unit I live in. I'd recommend East main to anyone looking for an affordable, safe apartment in the downtown area.
The staff is very helpful and cooperative. When there is a problem it is always taken care of in 24 hours. I've lived here almost two years and never had ZERO issues which can't be said about many other places I've lived. Priced right and no complaints.
When I first moved here, this was an awesome place to live. It was right on the river, mostly students, and super quiet. Along the way, ownership changed (I think it got passed down through a family?) and the nice parts about living here disappeared. The garden and the dock that I loved are no more, and people are CONSTANTLY LOUD here. My upstairs neighbor would literally start singing/clapping/shouting at 6 am and 11 pm. When I was moving out, the maintenance guy yelled at my sister for no good reason. Best of all, this place nickeled and dimed for everything. I had to wait ~2 months to get my deposit back because it got "lost in the mail". Bottom line - if you want to spend this much money for an apartment, you should find something nicer downtown.
