The Veggie Olga is great! It needed something else, so I added Feta for $1, but it was like I got $.05 worth on there. Otherwise service was fast & food is not too expensive.
We started enjoying Olga's back in the 1970's. What a treat it is to have one in Lansing. We prefer to eat in and relax and enjoy the food. Even though I have become a vegan, it was still a wonderful experience. My husband loved the traditional meal as always. Our waitress also brought the traditional spices (cayenne and garlic) and that made all the difference. The only thing missing is seeing Olga and Marty (and Marty's cookies store). We used to go to Olga's original store on Maple Road in downtown Birmingham.
Great food. Love their Pita Chips with Humus. So good.
Stopped in here for the first time with a buddy of mine. Tried the Mediterranean Olga and it was quite tasty. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to experience Olga's Kitchen. I'd like to add the service was exceptional. I plan on eating here again and highly recommend this establishment to anyone.
We waited for a few minutes for a server/host to show up and to be seated on a Sunday at 7 pm, no big deal but after being seated 10 minutes and no server, no drinks etc. We had to ask a server cleaning a table to take our order, he went and got a different server who then came over apoligizing and finally took our drink and food order. She said she would give us a free desert but did not take the desert drink off our bill, I did not want to wait another 10 minutes for her to show up again so we just left. The junky coupons they constantly send to your email if you are dumb enough to sign up are useless because they exclude almost half the sandwiches from being included and usually make up some soup salad and desert combo which we never use because the deserts are not good enough to buy and salads, are well, salads which if you cannot make one yourself shame on you. This last visit, which may actually be our last visit, the original Olga sandwich was barely warm and the fries were cold, the other sandwich was OK but is a 'premium' one that cost more and isn't included in their dumb coupon combo, whatever. Service was always sketchy but has gone down hill recently, food quality has suffered too, I think the food quality has suffered because they try to make too many food items now and are constantly adding and removing items, but adding fried shrimp to the menu? Why? Bad management that's why. I understand they want to offer variety and compete with others, blah blah blah, it is sad that the few items they have always had have declined in quality so much the last few years. Get your act together and get back to your roots of good, warm food, good consistent service and good value. We paid almost $30 for two sandwiches, one small fry, and one drink. Ouch. Not happening again. Thankfully there are many authentic Greek and middle eastern restaurants around that make much much better food at much better prices. Olgas will be gone soon and we will not miss them. Check out the picture of the disgusting silverware.
