Ever have a big box store waste your time?

Lowes delivery guy (Evan) shows up at my house to deliver a freezer which I purchased earlier in the week. I tell them to take the freezer door off and meet me at the walkout basement door. Evan refuses to take the door off and says that he "rotate it through the doorway." I tell him "no thanks" and that he is to remove the freezer door first. Evan begs to measure the door first and assures me that "it will be ok and my property will not be damaged." I tell him a third time to take the freezer door off. So Evan refuses to do his job and likes to argue with his company's loyal customers. Evan is angry and leaves my property while refusing to deliver the because he is too lazy to take the door off.

Great if you are going into the store to pick something off of the shelf, but that's it. If you have a deadline and special order anything, do NOT schedule anything around the delivery of the item purchased threw Lowes. I special ordered a door and paid good money for it, well its apparently going to be a week late. I had to call and cancel having insulation and drywall installed on my new build because I don't have a front door to ensure that the insulation wont get wet and I cant heat the house to drywall. And now i'm leery to re-schedule, what if the door doesn't show up again? I should have eaten the extra cost and ordered threw another company like MPC. I think i'll be looking for other vendors for the rest of the things I need like appliances, carpet, pergo, toilets, faucets, and such.

Overflowing with buffoons.

I called the store and asked for Rick (stores GM) and instead speak with his subordinate that is in charge (John). I video recorded the entire interaction with Evan and shared all of this information with the store manager. They are going to to re-attempt to redeliver the freezer today or tomorrow. The store manager was great and they knocked a couple hundred bucks off for the "inconvenience." I would rather have paid the 200 bucks instead of having my time wasted and property damaged.

Moral of the story. Do not have appliances delivered from this Lowes store OR ask for someone other than Evan to deliver the appliance.

The awesome sales staff and I spent quite a bit of time measuring door entrances and freezers and determined that we had to remove the freezer door to make it fit. To make sure the delivery personnel performed the delivery correctly. The sales staff wrote on the purchase order: "MUST REMOVE FREEZER DOOR." Sales staff were awesome.

If you're planning to do a kitchen or bathroom remodel, head somewhere else for the install. Lowes uses a company called Hip Homes. They do subpar work at 3 times the going rate. They also took twice as long as they said they were going to. The Lowes coordinators were very helpful... Lowes just obviously need to find new contractors. If you need something installed or need work done, find someone else to do it.

update: reduced to 1 star. The delivery guys showed up on time for redelivery. What did the delivery guy do? He took apart my door after the store Manager told the delivery guys to take the freezer door off (4 bolts). Management is completely ineffective. Then what happens? The delivery guy smokes the door jam with the freezer scratching my exterior door.

Ever have a delivery man damage your property?

I generally like Lowes considerably more than Home Depot; however, some of the appliance delivery staff at this store are lazy idiots.

Normally it at least a 4 start but I find when you shop on a Sunday the employees tend to have a vary poor attitude. The cashier today was almost going out of her way to be rude, and watched her be rude to a senior citizen just asking question. I will strongly consider going to their competition next time.

Evan is representing Lowes terribly, can't follow written instructions, is clearly lazy, and should be immediately terminated.

Terrible employees. 0 product knowledge.

They do seem to have everything im looking for and a great place to buy hunting equipment for a good price. I do highly recommend going here over Lowes for a wider range of items for home improvemt. The staff is also very nice and knowledgeable they always on know where to go even if it's not their area (which is not the norm) so im giving it a 5/5 Menards!
